Free Hip Hop Beat Making Software
65Beat Making Software
I have always loved hip hop and freestyling but I had never really tried beat making software before. Lately, I have been messing with a program I found called Dubturbo and I have made some pretty cool beats so far. It is pretty easy to use but I haven’t quite tried all the different features yet. Honestly, I am not even sure what some of them are so I guess I have a bit of research to do.
This software has been out for a little while now and the good thing is that I can find lots of youtube videos about it. That isn’t a huge deal I know but it is helpful because people post a lot of tutorials and tips and I would probably have no idea what I was doing if I hadn’t found them.
One thing I really like about Dubturbo is that it seems to be very versatile. I have been using it for a week or two now and so far I have made a ton of hip hop beats, some house stuff and I even did a few dubstep remixes. The dubstep was a lot of fun and surprisingly it was one of the better “test” beats that I completed.
What About Other Rap Beat Makers?
There is a lot of beat making software out there and I researched most of the popular ones before I bought Dubturbo. Another similar program that a lot of people talk about is called Sonic Producer, it looks pretty good but Dubturbo just felt like a better fit to me so I went with that. I can’t really say why. I think that from looking at the screenshots and videos and everything I just felt like Dubturbo was a little more user friendly and intuitive to use. So far I feel like that is the truth, everything I have tried to do I was able to figure out without reading the manual. I don’t know about you but I like to get up and go and sometimes I get a bit frustrated if I can’t make something work without reading the directions first!
If you are looking for free beat making software and you find some that isn’t terrible, please leave a comment with a link for me! I searched high and wide for free software and although there are some options they are all pretty much garbage. When I bought Dubturbo I felt like I had been wasting my time playing with the other programs. They are alright if you just want to goof around or something but the quality is usually bad. Again, this is just my experience but if you do find one that is decent please link me to it.
Overall I have to say I am pretty happy with everything. I am hoping to be able to start making some better quality beats by the end of the month once I have learned my way around the software a little more. Even though I am new to this I really enjoy it and I would love to be good enough to start selling beats online for some extra cash some day. A lot of people are doing that now and some of them seem to be making a lot of money. I love hip hop and that would be like a dream job for me. Who wouldn’t love to hang out and make music all day and get paid for it?
